Inception (movie) hotel bathroom question?

in the movie inception what is the scene where cobb and fischer go into the bathroom and then 2 men chase them in there and then cobb kills both of them??? are they fischers subconscious body guards? that want to kill cobb really and not fischer? be great if anyone could answer. cheers :)
