Goats Milk?

My 12mth old baby boy suffers terribly with runny nose, dry cough and has had a couple of ear infections since christmas. He doesn't have a cold, he has no temperature and is not 'unwell'. We believe he has an allergy to something but doctors are reluctant to diagnose and drag their heels with anything like this - I have terrible allergies and drs do nothing but prescribe antihistamines etc. I give him piriton syrup in the evening (as this makes him drowsy I cannot give it to him in the day) but I recently heard that cows milk can cause these symptoms in mild allergic form and goats milk will help - one parent even stating on a particular brand that his daughters symptoms cleared up immediately at the onset of drinking goats as opposed to cows milk. Does anyone have any experience of this and is trying an alternative milk worthwhile?
